World Parkinson’s Day: Move, Speak, Advocate — Because Each Step Matters

Whether it's a cha cha or a waltz, advocacy begins with you!

Today, on World Parkinson’s Day, we honor the strength, courage, and resilience of those living with Parkinson’s disease — not just by raising awareness, but by championing action. At Rx Ballroom Dance, we believe that movement is powerful — but so is your voice.

For many in our community, Parkinson’s comes with more than physical challenges. It brings a journey filled with questions, frustrations, and moments where it’s easy to feel unseen.

That’s why self-advocacy is so important.

Advocating for yourself means more than speaking up at a doctor’s appointment. It means…

💬 Asking for therapies that truly work for you

💃 Showing up to dance class even on hard days

📝 Educating others about Parkinson’s and your lived experience

🤝 Finding support groups, local resources, and people who truly listen

At Rx Ballroom Dance, we’ve seen firsthand how our students transform through the power of movement, but it’s the confidence that carries them beyond the studio. Every time someone walks through our doors, chooses to move, or shares their story — they’re advocating not just for themselves, but for others walking a similar path.

So today, we celebrate all the brave steps — both on and off the dance floor.

If you’re living with Parkinson’s, we see you. We hear you. And we invite you to join our community where dance is just the beginning of your empowerment journey.

Because Parkinson’s may affect how you move — but it will never silence your voice.

💙 Happy World Parkinson’s Day from all of us at Rx Ballroom Dance.
